Worthle FAQ & Official Guide: Rules, Clues, Scoring & Collectibles Explained
Everything you need to know about playing Worthle. From radar proximity math and daily reset schedules to public disclosure methodology and trading card binder mechanics.
1. What is Worthle and what is the objective?
Worthle is a free daily deduction web game that tests your financial intuition against the real, audited wealth of prominent public figures.
Each day, you are shown a spotlight public figure—such as a U.S. Senator, Representative, State Governor, or Prime Minister. You are given their verified annual government salary, chamber of service, home state/province, and official portrait. Your goal is to pinpoint their total estimated net worth in 6 guesses or fewer.
2. What time does the Daily Worthle puzzle reset?
The Daily Worthle puzzle resets every night at midnight (00:00) in your local timezone.
Because reset times are synchronized to local player clocks, you will always have a fresh puzzle waiting for you when you wake up. Every player within your chosen country dataset (US, UK, or Canada) receives the exact same mystery public figure on that calendar day, enabling direct score comparisons with friends and coworkers.
3. How does the Proximity Radar feedback system work?
Unlike linear letter-matching games, public wealth ranges span across massive orders of magnitude (from $100,000 to over $1,000,000,000). To give players realistic clues, Worthle uses a logarithmic multiplier ratio:
| Radar Status | Multiplier Ratio | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| Bullseye (Green) | Within 1.5x | You are extraordinarily close! If the target is $10M, any guess between $6.7M and $15M registers green. |
| Close (Amber) | Within 3.0x | You have identified the correct wealth bracket. A modest adjustment will land the bullseye. |
| Far Off (Gray/Zinc) | > 3.0x | You are in the wrong financial tier. Look at the Higher (▲) or Lower (▼) arrow indicator to recalibrate. |
4. How are politician net worth figures calculated?
Worthle takes data transparency seriously. All financial figures are compiled strictly from public government records and verified non-partisan disclosures:
- United States: Official U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate Office of Public Records filings (OGE Form 278e annual financial disclosures required under the Ethics in Government Act and STOCK Act of 2012).
- United Kingdom: The Register of Members' Financial Interests published by the House of Commons Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards.
- Canada: Public disclosure registries published by the Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner.
- Aggregated Repositories: OpenSecrets, Ballotpedia, and Wikipedia.
Note: By federal law, American lawmakers disclose asset holdings in value ranges (e.g., $500,001 to $1,000,000). Worthle uses standardized midpoint formulas (Total Minimum Assets + Total Maximum Assets ÷ 2, subtracting disclosed liabilities) to establish a fair and consistent baseline.
5. How do Higher / Lower Showdowns work in Minigames?
Finished your daily puzzle and want to keep playing? Click the Minigames tab at the top of the board to enter the Higher or Lower Showdown.
In Showdowns, two prominent public figures are placed head-to-head. The left figure's net worth is revealed as the benchmark. Your task is to guess whether the challenger on the right has a HIGHER or LOWER net worth. Each correct guess crowns the winner as King of the Hill and rolls in a new challenger. Can you build a streak of 10 or 20 in a row?
6. What are Trading Cards, Holographic Foils, and the Card Binder?
Worthle features a built-in virtual card collecting system. When you successfully deduct a politician’s net worth in Daily Mode, that politician’s official trading card is unlocked and placed in your Card Binder (accessible via the book icon in the header).
Each card displays the figure’s high-resolution portrait, committee assignments, salary, state, and party. If you guess the figure on your first or second try, or achieve major win streaks in Showdowns, you earn Rare Holographic Foil Cards with dynamic metallic shine animations.
7. How does the Quick Add keypad work?
Typing out zeros like "$12,000,000" on mobile touchscreens can be cumbersome. Worthle features dynamic quick-add buttons directly beneath the input field:
- Tier Shortcuts: Buttons like
+$1M,+$5M, or+$10Mallow rapid numerical incrementing. - Multiplier Chips: Quickly double (
2x) or halve (½x) your previous guess when executing a binary search strategy. - Clear & Backspace: Instantly reset your current input to zero without highlighting text.
8. Does Worthle collect personal data or require an account?
No. Worthle does not require an account, username, password, email address, or phone number. We do not sell user data to advertising networks or credit bureaus.
All gameplay progress—including your win streaks, guess history, unlocked trading cards, and dark/light mode preference—is stored exclusively on your device inside your browser’s LocalStorage. You can read our full Privacy Policy here.
